Finally, progress! I've been pushing to get this project done, with the current focus on the hallway section. There's a few bits that I need to tweak, and I can't really do any of them until I've got this part done.
The hallway is something like 95% done... all that's left are the pipes that will run in that trough in the floor, some additional light placement and light source adjustment, and a few minor details on the left wall.
I played with the light sources and finally started using the "decay" option, currently set to "quadratic". They're a bit too harsh in this shot, so I want to try lowering them a bit and adding other sources elsewhere. With some work, I think I can get away with not having to do an ambient occlusion pass for the final renders. It would certainly save a LOT of time.
As always, this is a work in progress, so critique and ideas and whatnot are welcome.

Render: single pass with Mental Ray, ~18 minutes

I hope you will be reading this though I do notice you haven't been active for a long while.
I am from Singapore and wish to say I love your work and have used it as a background for one of our Star Wars Fan group's Photos. We are a non-profit group which actively engages in charitable events to raise funds for the unfortunate. Your work is partially used as the background with photos of members in costumes imposed on it. I have also credited you in the photo together with this URL where this background originated.
I hope you do see my message and let me know if you are okay in using part of your background. However, if you disagree with my use, please do let me know and I will be glad to remove it.
